Lent Day 11: The First Station – Jesus is Condemned to Death

We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee, because by The Holy Cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.

Meditation: Consider that Jesus, after having been scourged and crowned with thorns, was unjustly condemned by Pilate to die on the cross.

Prayer: My adorable Jesus, it was not Pilate, no, it was my sins, that condemned Thee to die. I beseech Thee, by the merits of this sorrowful journey, to assist my soul in it’s journey towards eternity. I love Thee, my beloved Jesus; I love Thee more than myself; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Lord Jesus crucified, have mercy on us!

Even while writing this meditation and prayer, in a flash, I lost my temper and did not handle a situation well at all. My own denial of Jesus instead of a denial of self. These crosses are sometimes difficult to carry, but we know that they are worth it. To walk with Christ truly is the hardest, but so too the greatest and most worthwhile occupation of our days. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.

At the cross her station keeping, stood the mournful mother weeping, close to Jesus to the last.
